And not every baby cries after being born. Sometimes the doctor or the nurse will spank the baby to get the cry out for everybody's notice. We are used to babies crying after being born, so it has to happen.

I guess I shouldn’t be too confident about it, I never been to a Delivery room. But I was told that sometimes if the baby is not crying, a gentle smack is given. It is used as a sign that the baby is healthy and alert.
