Nah what I'm seeing here is enough. Woke people who probably would shout on me and call me transphobic if I tell them I would buy Hogwarts Legacy only to see them cry about it. Theres nothing better than fresh salt from these people. Makes my day...everyday.
i still don't know what the hell is going on with this game. Why are they triggered?

I don't give much importance to political discussions, as they have the issue to end often toxic. I think that everyone should be treated as a human being regardless of their origin, gender, appearance or other things. Many people forget this basic principle again and again. There is no added value for individual people. I only see a problem when minorities try to influence the general consensus. In a democratic system in particular, this must be prevented. Everyone can have their opinion and also actively represent or take action against a cause, as long as this is done in a legitimate way. No one deserves extra treatment, and sometimes you just have to bow to the consensus and accept that the world doesn't revolve around you. It's less a problem that the majority don't want to accept, more that a minority can't understand their place. These people need psychological help. Not because they belong to any minority, more because they are unable to live in a system. It put a strain on them so much that some of them may well take their own lives. One should help these people to accept how the world works and never let minorities dictate oneself in any way. The freedoms of one stop where others try to limit them. In the case of trans people, they too are like us. They have neither more nor less value than we do. I would say there are always options to address things and see if you can make changes to e.g. toilets for these people. At the same time, however, one must not infringe on the freedoms of others. If a man or a woman doesn't want these people to be allowed to go to the respective toilet, they just have to accept that. If they can't, it's their own problem. I believe there are enough counseling centers to go to if you think things like this are affecting your life so badly. You should of course help these people, because at the end of the day we are all human. Let's respect who they are or what they are as long as people accept our boundaries. People only deserved respect, when they also respect the boundaries of other people. That not only cause for the case of Transpeople, that counts for every human in the world. No one should get a special treatment.

Nah, don't worry you can buy HL we won't come on you for that, it looks like a great game. Just be sure to check the context behind the game to have everything you need to make your choice:

As no one is talking, let me grab the conversation for a moment.

So you all know that "Hogwarts Legacy" (the Harry Potter Universe's game) is coming up soon on february 10.

While I won't say to you "do not buy the game" (for reasons I will developp later) as you are all entitle to your opinions and choices of freetime, I think it's important to replace this game into its context.

First you must know one thing: People who worked on the game have already been paid. What you might not know on the other hand is that some people will receive money from copyright ownership. In short, the more the game will be sold, the more the money going to them. And among those people is - you guessed it - J K Rowling. Now I will talk about J K Rowling later but I want to talk about another subject first as I will try to be as inclusive as I can on this subject I will start at the basics:

Do you know who Transgender people are ?

It's okay if you don't, until a few years ago, I was completely oblivious to them and their struggles. First, a bit of basic:

As you may have understood here. It's important to separate sex and gender as those notion are scientifically and sociologically different.

Now, what being a Transgender really means ? I won't explain it to you, I will let Trans people tell you all about it:

From a science approach:

To a sociological approach:

It's important to understand that being Transgender is NOT a mental illness.

Therefore, all transgender people are VALID. They ALL deserve the same rights as Cisgender People. They deserve the same right as you and me.

-----

What is important here, is to understand that Trans people are DISCRIMINATED and OPPRESSED by our differents societies:

For diverse act of violence against trans people:

To people who are trying to criminilize Trans communities or those who help them through moral panics:

This is where we need to talk about J K Rowling.

You see J K Rowling is now an well know anti Trans activist. She is what we call a "TERF", "a Trans-exclusionary radical feminist". "A person whose views on gender identity are considered hostile to transgender people, or who opposes social and political policies designed to be inclusive of transgender people."

https://youtu.be/_GBUArD51KY?t=817

Terf are known to be transphobe, this is not a news. But what is starting to become more concerning is the fact that this transphobe ideology (and JK Rowling as well as her followers) is starting to flirt with really DARK movements: the alt-right and fascist kinds.

(This following one is actually quite horrific)

------

This is where WE can have an influence:

You see, by refusing to finance those people, we are actually lessening the probabilities of those dark transphobes ideology to be shared. That's why it's important to understand where your money will go once you buy property owned by those type of people.

This is not a thread meant to culpabilize you. You would be completely legitimate to buy a game like Hogward Legacy, after all it looks like a cool game and I would LOVE to play it also.. but...

At least, you have the context.

While it might be the best Harry Potter game. Buying that game, is beneficial to the anti trans politics.

Now, You have all the informations to make a good choice.

yeah basically C4N is saying if you disagree with him you're XYZphobic
Did you read that ?

Ok.. it looks like we need a little bit of pedagogy here. Fine.

So, we will look at different sentences and we will try to see if
1. they are transphobic or not
and
2. Why they can be hurtfull and thus must be called out:

"I hate Trans people" > This is obviously transphobic. Why ? Because 1. it normalize the hate of trans people in a kinda violent way. 2.This opinion puts trans people in danger of harrassment and worst.

"I don't care about trans people subjects" > This is not transphobic. This is a simple opinion on the subject. It's fine.

"Trans people are mentally ill" > This is transphobic. Why ? Because 1. it normalize the process of denying the existence and identity of transpeople. 2. This normalization then can lead to violence toward transpeople and in some cases, rapes so his opinion puts trans people in danger of harrassment and worst. 3. This opinion is based on a fallacious statement and a poor understanding of what mental illness are and the condition of trans people.

"I feel like trans struggle subjects are too present in the media" > This is not transphobic.. It's an opinion. Based on a bias but an opinion nonetheless.

"Trans women shouldn't have access to women bathroom cause it can lure predator" > This is transphobic.. Why ? Because 1. It normalize the process of denying the existence and identity of transpeople and their right to have a bathroom. 2. This is based on a altright transphobic moral panic which purpose is the discrimination of transpeople 3. It's based on fallacies and biased as it is not observed in reality 4. It invisiibilize the struggle of transwomen that is the fact that leaving them in men bathroom puts them more in danger than it puts a danger on women to let them have access to those spaces. > Again, Transwomen are the most assault and oppressed LGBTQ+ community. 5. This opinion puts trans people in danger of harrassment and worst.

"TransWomen are biological men" > This is transphobic. Why ? Because 1. It normalize the process of denying the existence and identity of transpeople. 2. It's based on the volontary transphobe ignorance of the scientific reality of the researches on the subject that say that Sex =/= gender. 3. It is a false understanding of the notion of sex. 3. It normalize the altright transphobe discourse that deny the right of transwomen to exist and have right 4. This opinion puts trans people in danger of harrassment and worst.

Etc. etc.

And all those statement can actually hurt a trans person passing by. Let's imagine that this person suffers a great depression.. and you could have a dark case on your hands..

You can perfectly have opinions about trans that are not transphobe, it's possible. But others are harmfull.

So,

If you say something transphobic, this ethical thing to reply is "you are saying something transphobic, please stop".
If you keep repeating that transphobic statement, the ethical thing to say is "stop please, you are being a transphobe here"

And if you deny that reply and keep saying transphobic thing:

The ethical conclusion to adopt is that you are a transphobe. (not saying you are, it's just for the example)

Once again, it makes it easier for predators to pretend they're trans when going to cis toilets. Only because there are rare cases of it doesn't mean it is okay to violate the personal space and safety of women's bathrooms.
This is a moral panic, it's not a reality:

https://time.com/4314896/transgender-bathroom-bill-male-predators-argument/

Trans people won't be discriminated by putting clear boundaries.
Yes they will as they ALREADY ARE.
Basically what YOU are saying is that it would reasonable to say "I don't agree with racial equality, but that doesn't mean I'm racist!"
Spot on

you don't want equaliy, you want to subvert tradition.Man don't belong in the lady's bathroom.Transwoman are no women.
Stop using transphobe arguement please if you don't want me to call you a transphobe.

No one deserves extra treatment,
Denying the benefit of equity I see... mmh.. What a capitalistic thing to say.

Have fun on the wrong side of history 💖
Just by curiosity (you don't have to reply) are you trans ?
