I went to a "top 100 school in the US" and we learned very little in the way of sex ed until junior year of high school. Middle school health class was pretty much purely about the effects of puberty(and one deranged rant about how gay sex is unhealthy because the teacher had heard that the gay guy on Glee had had sex in a recent episode). I only knew what a condom was because of South Park.

I wasn't even talking about you

But keep replying for the readers:kobeha:
Well, I am a mod who argued with you in this very thread and you used the term "mods", meaning you aren't talking about one particular mod that you had issues with, so I'd naturally assume it concerns me. You should probably be more specific about who you're talking about if you care enough to not confuse others.

So when did you learn sex leads to pregnancy? After having sex?

Its not about how sex leads to pregnancy, its about how to have safe sex properly. I knew guys in high school that thought that a condom means there's no way a baby can happen. Hell, I've known girls who thought that they could avoid getting knocked up by having sex on their period

I even knew a guy who thought girls didn't have buttholes and pooped through their vagina. That doesn't have anything to do with pregnancy but it has everything to do with the fact that the average teenager that gets pregnant or gets someone else pregnant is the last person you want raising a child.

Of course none of this is particularly relevant to my actual opinion which is that you should be able to get an abortion regardless of your "reason". Your reason is "I don't want to have a baby". Nobody should have to have a baby if they don't want to, and no baby should have to be born to a mother who doesn't want it.

They're just telling you they ain't giving us sex ed at the age of six as you claimed they are. Even in a state like New York schools are not required to teach sex ed.
Bro... they ain't doing that shit. And even if they did, you underestimate the ability of an American mom to go to the school board and complain for 5 hours straight.
There's a bit of confusion here. I only said people learn about sex before they're old enough to have sex. AL complained about kids being taught about sex at school, which, as I pointed out to AL, is a different topic from what I was talking about. AL wasn't supporting my previous argument; he was talking about the explicit discussions about sex that are happening in some schools these days.

You're taught how you get pregnant when you're relatively young i.e., in school by your own admission. So for the most part, you know you get pregnant if you have sex, and if you did have sex knowing full well you could get pregnant, it's not the education's fault.

I agree about the safe sex part of the argument. It should be taught at least before you become old enough to have sex or at least the parents should teach them. However, most guys already know stuff like this by the time they're old enough, and most people who opt for abortion aren't clueless teens.
