Does anyone really cares about Kuma's backstory?

I would found interesting during pre-timeskip maybe right after timeskip.

But now... I don't give a shit about it. We have so much going on for this guy backstory be relevant...

If Oda at least tried and forced Kuma to be relevant to the story. Kuma only duties was to save Strawhats from Kizaru/Pacifistas and protect their ship(still unexplained how someone could damage him so badly during those 2 years). He already fullfilied his role there is nothing left to him.

Yeah but u know the deal with this. Everyone and their mothers had a tragic backstory involving CDs whether you were a direct slave or your country suffered because of them.

His Backstory gonna include Rocks Pirates, Celestial Dragons, Dragon, Vegapunk, Akainu, Aokiji, Sword Members, Fujitora, Rocky Port Incident, God's Valley ... etc

It's gonna be Biggest Flashback so far, you'll see

The tragedy aspect is all-present, yes. But in Kuma's case I think we might see more from Mariejois. And since Kuma is dead alreasy, the things we see in the flashback aren't meant to give redemption to the character but show something Kuma experienced/saw that will soon become relevant for the SHs

I know it was said that he is dead but by his last actions he seems to still be alive and have a will of his own.

Still there is nothing to look forward about it. We saw how cruel Celestial Dragons can be. Dragon got abused by CDs and decided he won't be having this shit and join Revos. That's resident sleeper.

I rather if Dragon never got abused but he is just kind and knows how to put himself in others skin. Empathy.

I'm overall pessimistic towards OP. We saw everyone Oda is capable of writing pre-ts. Now he is just repeating his shitty formulas with nothing new and overextends the arcs.

Dragon is shit himself. He will show up now that Luffy started making changes to the world. What a fraud.

Agreed about Dragon. Still makes no sense to me why Revos didn't took part at Paramount War.

But disagree about repeating formulas that are not shitty at all. In fact post-TS problem was that formulas wasn't repeated.

FMI, Dressrosa, WCI, and Wano are post ts' versions of the Alabasta arc formula.

FMI = Damsel in distress = Shirahoshi.
Dressrosa = Damsel in distress = Rebecca.
WCI = Damsel in distress = Sanji.
