My fiancé and I went from planning for children to deciding we didn’t want any over the course of the COVID nightmare, just can’t rationalize bringing a kid into a world this ugly and broken. If you look at how people talk now, they moderate themselves, they no longer want to speak what they trully think, just not to offend ... they build prisons of their own mind and fear the truth

This is mainly driven by social media. A small, but vocal minority can shift the overtone window.
Its a fear of being socially flayed. Of losing your fucking job over statements that where ubiquitous just 10 years ago.
It is only since a few months that politicians have caught on. Doing what this vocal minority wants put a heavy strain on nearly every western society.
What? People do not want to defend the country during armed conflict because they feel alienated? No one could have seen this coming!

Lets take germany as an example.
Neoliberals are spamming Twitter.
Only the neoliberal Twitter posts are even mentioned by the neoliberal media. Do not ask me why there is even a need to quote literal nobodies on anything... Whoever gives the right and expectable answers, I guess.
Politicians act to please all these neoliberals they always hear from.
Everyone else is neglected and rightfully frustrated.
