I see

always get confused with the 12 AM and 12 PM thing
I got confused too before.

When it hits 12, the "designation" changes. So if you're in the morning it will go p.m., if you're in the night it will go a.m.

What's there to be confused about lol
Because this a.m. and p.m. thing it's not used in all countries. For example in Portugal instead of 3 p.m. we say "3 da tarde" which is "3 in the afternoon" or use the 24h format.

That and lazyness in wanting to know something (the p.m. and a.m. thing for example), which in the end is irrelevant, it can make it confusing, and because of lack of interest in learning it.

Yeah, here in Brazil it's the same thing

we go from 00:00 to 23:59

or we say "meio dia" for "noon" and "meia noite" for "midnight"

or we say hour + "manhã", "tarde" ou "noite"

So the 12 A.M. and 12 P.M. for me is always weird

Same.

Plus some people say " twelve and twenty of the morning" and they're talking about the mid day time and not night.

People here would say night to refer to a time after mid night.

i mean, in Poland you could say something like "3 po poludniu" which means basically 3 PM, but that's i'm pretty sure common parlance. To be official you say 15.
