And he has a DF disadvantage against Akainu.

As far as we know, Sabo is just a logia user with advanced armament haki, maybe future sight. No different from guys like Aokiji or Kizaru in this regard (I won't rule out conqueror's haki for Akainu just yet)

Considering these, Sabo beating Akainu solo would be the biggest disrespect that Oda can give to Akainu.
It would be fine is he just played a role or land the final blow tho, just not a 1v1

Sabo has a very high chance of being a conqueror (and based on his CoA mastery, an advanced conqueror’s user as well)

In the last panel we see a panel of his back and close up to his face without flame

Similar to how sanji was callin queen on lying about not feeling pain from his attacks + how kaido was too prideful by the end of the fight with luffy he refused to dodge luffy's final attack and instead tried taking it head on and overpowering him (doffy doing the same)

Zoro called him out on blocking his attacks with his flame and pretending his attacks weren't working
Leading King basically did a combination of both kaido and queen with his pride being his downfall. Tho they all would have lost either way by the end

1. King like queen acting as if zoro's attacks weren't actually hurting him as if zoro wasn't making progress
2. King like kaido taking zoro's final attack head on trying to overpower him with his own attack
   • Kaido and kings final attacks even being extremely similar
