It's a problem, a giant problem, when Oda focuses on that and forgets about his main characters
That's why Straw Hats have become boring at this point, because they barely have a role

Luffy beats the big enemy with zero development other than strength
Zoro fights the big enemy and beats the 2nd strongest, other than strength he has maybe some development in chapter 1033 yeah nice but...
Sanji beats the 3rd strongest, other than strength he had a lot of development but it was so bad quality (WCI and then Raid Suit, genes etc) that hell it would have been better if he didn't have
The others are just filler
They beat some goon, they get captured, they partake in comical relief, and that's it

Almost three decades and we don't know shit about Shanks, Mihawk, Dragon

And then maybe we get a chapter of each because now Oda is tired... after tens and tens of chapter of people running here and there

True, all character moments are attributed to side characters whereas main characters are just bodyguards ever since wano started. See Law, how he was shown development in strength against Blackbeard whereas SHs especially Luffy and Zoro suffering memory loss regarding their abilities. And Usopp fucking turned into stone! He could have developed CoO here. But nah, let him become stone and let some side character rescue him.
