every way possible - lets start here he lacked patience and forcibly pushed his own birth earlier than he shouldve been - killed his mother at birth for what real reason, cause he felt superior to her - hes just a copycat of Cell who instead of having to grow stronger he was born into it leaving no real room for any real growth or struggles - didnt even realize he didnt have a name or ever wondered if that was a thing, moreso given he was just about the smartest creature to exist he lacked basic common sense - he spent 98% of his lifespawn locked away in his room playing games against others to flex his superiority at least cell held an actual Martial Arts Tournament had build up to his fights giving every other person in that arc CD alongside him - in him keeping komugi prison he was at fault for her death.

Mereum was/is a trash ass character the only thing he had going for him was being OP that they had to bring in the real hype beast of HxH Netero.

Characters like Killua, Uvo and PT have displayed better character development then Mereum oh gosh he had a change of heart and wanted to live with humans cause of a little girl only when he was dying.

When it comes to HxH id say Killua and Kurapika have far superior character development than anything that mereum has ever displayed.

Now that I'm reading HxH, I'd say Killua does have one of the best character development arcs! He is changing throughout the story, I legit thought he'd be Gon's "Sasuke" or something, but Killua is truly his own character, and it's cool to see him grow. I'd say he even outshines Gon in that department.
Still reading about Meruem, I'm on chapter 258, and he's still a jerk.

its your first time reading or watching the series?

killua and both kura grow alot not just in strength but they both have their own personal journeys - i disliked kurapika at the start but have actually came to enjoyed him especially with the most recent arc going on

It's my first time reading the series. I heard a lot of great feedback about it, but wasn't ready to start an ongoing series with way too many hiatuses after D.Gray-Man fiasco (by now I dropped the series since I forgot what was happening there) and Nana (on hiatus since 2009... Eh). Also, not sure where we are with Black Lagoon, it also seems to have an irregular schedule, and I've stopped reading it by now after finishing one of the arcs there.

But everyone here encouraged me to try HxH, and I'm glad I did. It is really interesting, the characters have great development and I like that we have a lot of focus on several of them, and it's not like OP or Black Clover, or Bleach, where you always need MC to hit the BBEG.

Gon's transformation into a monster is better than Meruems transformation into a human

But many people here (some not) only went with development when it turns someone good, but development that turns someone bad is damn good too

feel like whoever entered both mereum and zuko were basing their submissions off of hype to float them to the finals.

& you are correct there gon>mereum

Literally made me wanna rig the tourney to give her a fighting chance, but that wouldn't be fair

Tho idk if what would be bad or good, like to match weaker less known picks against one another

Fanboys always gonna pile on their faves here. Pick the hot faves, the easy choices or watch you entry get stomped by overwhelming bias. Never mind how much effort you put into it, they dont care or don't wanna read either.
Niche choices by anyone almost always get dumped on, it sucks.

Poor Clem, she's one of my favourite characters but I know she ain't beating Meruem
As soon as I saw Mureum, I knew she was doomed. Typical. Bad enough he was submitted, he's gonna stomp through regardless too lol.
Way too many HxH fans here for him not to win by bias. Like submitting Bleach, Naruto, Jojo etc stuff for these. (Also pretends I didn't submit stuff from those before to be fair LOL)

Oh well, it is what it is. If Clem gets some recognition and so does the games, its a big W still I guess.
I suspect Lee or Kenny would have been more popular choices than her somehow too. Just a "suspicion" here...
