I don't see it being any kind of curveball... The first thing which I mentioned about a satellite being a traitor was because if their ideals... Something unexpected is added which they prioritize and for them it won't be seen as something iff... And it seems the same thing is happening... But in a far more boring way as expected because.. This whole egghead stuff itself doesn't matter... Especially to SHs.... Who have been with vegapunk for few hours maybe. All of this is just too meh to care..
If you're not invested then stop reading and come back when there's a hype chapter. All I was saying is York is a standard subversion on Oda's part, where in another story we would expect Shaka to be the mastermind. We don't know what her motivation is but if it's to cause maximum chaos that's good for the story.
