I can choose anyone to use it on if I don't get invited to a date. Though like it says since i'm invited to a date it straight up won't activate.

But @Charlie i'll agree to just letting Underworld Broker be the lead if you agree to not buy a ton of high value stuff and make the date unwinnable for me. I'd like the winner to come down more to who picked the better date choices than just who had more coins from the start .
