The Strawhats are heading to Elbaf, most likely next arc to see Saul and get the last RP, so Oda might want to save what happened to Kid until then.

They aren’t going to Winner Island or Fullalead, and Blackbeard already has a followup plotpoint set up with Garp being on the way to get Coby. Wouldn’t be much of a surprise for the next time the story cuts there, Law’s already been beaten and it’s Blackbeard vs Garp. Then that can provide the distraction for Coby, Law, maybe even Pudding, to get rescued.
