Oda starting to trim characters before the final war is actually good. No way he can handle that many in a good way. Kidd wasn’t even very interesting. He was competing with Luffy for the throne but lost the fight. Perfectly fair conclusion imo. He even did something great by teaming with Law and defeating BM

He basically used the supernovas to see who could get popular, he thought Kid would be popular but Law won the hearts and minds of fans. This treatment makes sense, meanwhile Law at least puts up a fight against Blackbeard.

This is what happens when Kid faces a Yonko who's a man, in a sexist mangaka story, and doesn't benefit from Luffy's plot armor and shonen power growth with Luffy not being around.

No matter how you twist it, Kidd should NOT be taken out in a single chapter. If Oda is willing to give Shanks this level of portrayal, no matter the argument one may have in Mihawks favor, as valid as they may seem, its been made clear Oda is ready to write the most ridiculous things to make Shanks look good.
