Kidd and Law literally understood their place in the food chain and said to Big Mom: "We are not letting you go above to interupt Luffy.

If Kid’s story ends this chapter, he should die. If he doesn’t, then he still has a role to play. That’s just basic storytelling.

Oda doesn't kill people since timeskip started. He doesn't have the writing capabilities to make it relevant. Look Izo and Ashura.

Why give Kid plot armor and protect him from dying if his role is finished?

To become another addition to Luffy's cheerleaders who will aid him in the final war.
