Shanks isn't enough of an antagonistic figure to fight Luffy in anything more than a friendly contest at this point.
And BB badly needs to beat someone well established to be built up as Luffy's final pirate fight.

Sigh, another generic response to the most generic ideology of a character who's motivations we literally do not know. Its also funny how people magically assume Blackbeard is Luffy's final pirate fight, pulled randomly from the idea that their D. parallels must mean that to be the case.

If BB "desperately" needs to show anything to validate his antagonism, then maybe hes not the final antagonist.

This is true so idk why people are acting like Law is somehow above Kidd now. Blackbeard has always gotten tagged by his opponents in a fight, Shanks has regular human durability so Oda can't afford to let him get hit and make him look bad because it's bound to do lots of damage. He's not a human punching bag like BB/BM/Kaido.

It's just that conveniently gives the clumsy oponnent to Law and have him look good for a sec while Kid just gets used to clean the deck.

It's over. Shanks didn't use a gun. Shanks didn't use a haki laser beam. Shanks did not reveal he was secretly a kickboxer all along. Instead, the FIRST named attack we get from Shanks is also the one named attack Roger also used. And it's a sword swing that is basically Miahwks no-name move with a red and black color pallet switch. "But how does Shanks ACTUALLY fight?" This is how you fucking clowns!

People don’t want to remember this… Big mom DECIDED TO LEAVE the fight when Law and kid were still conscious after their fodder crews begged to have their lives spared by her

And now here we are with Kid’s fodder crew begging Shanks not to kill him

Jesus Christ, now compare that to that one time Kaido was going to smash unconscious Luffy’s head in and Zoro told him to fight him instead… Compare that to how Oda treats Law and kid and their crews
