Looking back yeh sounds reasonable....one piece never has originality. Arcs are just copy cat from previous arcs, Character are copy cats from previous era etc ....
I'm certain his original plan for G5 Luffy is also a yellow saiyan hair ........ At least he dodged that idea

A lot of the fans base hype to see shanks doing a move that a call back to his captain the PK which is nice.

It's normal that Kid is removed from the One Piece race directly by Shanks.

Kid is not Luffy's rival I've been saying that for years Luffy's real rival is Blackbeard.

Kid was helped a lot by Law against a nerfed BM who didn't use Advanced Haki. Ans the bombs played a part in Big Mom's defeat

I had already said the hypothesis that Kid was going to be a Moria bis but in his own way.

It seems that is what is happening. Kid is not important in the story of One Piece.
