Mihawk > Shanks
Shanks > Kaido
Mihawk < Kaido
Some characters work better against others.
A very clear example is Sanji vs any woman or Luffy vs Enel.
Mihawk might have the skills that work very good against a haki man like Shanks, but might not do as good against defensive monsters like Kaido or Big Mom.
Not saying I agree with this, but it's an interresting view to take.

No one is tailor made to beat Kaido more than Mihawk
