It was actually a good plan. Regardless of if akainu or the gorosei know coby or not it would actually be a huge L to the government and the marines if they casually allow a yonko to execute whom the marines gave the title of hero to publicly especially when people from all walks of life know who koby is. It would actually be a huge L

I mentioned that theory since I thought bb would realistically also want to capture the other marines including the vice admiral that was there. So koby gave himself up to save them.

What actually happened now works more in my favor since it means that:

1. Blackbeard himself had to capture koby
2 blackbeard himself knew that out of all marines there koby was the one with the biggest bounty on him.

3. Blackbeard logically thought that koby would be the sole reason why the government would give him the island which actually makes sense since a public execution of whom the world government and marines coined as being their new hero of the marines (koby) it would be a huge L since the public who knows about the famous coby would not be able to take the world government nor the marines seriously lol

Its impossible for them to not know a 500 million bounty Marine.

But they sacrifice their men all the time, BB probably relied on his own strength to show ''look I got your man randomly and you can't even come here and can't save your men.''

If Sword fails to save Koby, that only proves Bb's claim on how weak Marines are.

Thats why the government don't agree on deals like this. If they make a move and fail thats worse. Sword did make a move on their own so we will see.
