If Sanji's leg broke against S-Shark, I would make the exact same thread like this.
But yeah, I know Oda is gonna wank Shanks hard, but I didn't think he would wank Shanks THIS hard.
At this point, power scaling shouldn't matter due to extreme bias. I'm gonna support Kidd > Shanks everytime. Fuck Shanks (Oda's self-inserted).

This is perhaps the second most pathetic opening post I have ever seen on this forum. 
Shanks being an idealistic role model for teenage kids doesn't sound unreasonable in a shonen manga all about idealistic romanticism but hey, maybe that is just me not being an edgy enough emo to root for a thin skinned terrorist that slaughters civilians for merely laughing at him over an individual that could perhaps be simply summed up as "heroic".

Being assertive and standing up for yourself isn't "edgy", that's what you're supposed to do. Shanks is a horrible role model and that scene of his letting himself get dunked on in the bar is the absolute worst lesson for kid's and teens watching the show. Them poor kids now think the right thing to do when being bullied is to let themselves get shit on so they can be like shanks, just for them to keep getting bullied and taken advantage of
That scene in Jaya was the worst and most inconsistent scene in the whole manga. Luffy has no problem in attacking absolutely anyone that mildly insults him or gets in his way. Never has there been a single instance since jaya where luffy refuses to fighting someone that attacks him because it "isnt worth it". The scene is one big outlier to force a parallel with the scene with shanks
The strawhats verbally support their captain who like shanks doesn't resort to violence over something so trivial. Kid on the other hand litteraly crucifies innocent people who laugh and don't believe he'll accomplish a goal when he has absolutely no chance of ever becoming pk...
So if I tell you my dream is to drop a giant mushy turd right on Vladimir Putin's pillow, and you laugh at what I said, it wouldn't considered a temper tantrum if I were to stake you to a cross just because you laughed at me? I would be a rational human being right, acting in a justified manner because "only dickheads make fun of other people's dreams and ambitions"?

Mate, Kidd didn't simply stand up for himself. He slaughtered people, mostly civilians if the consistent bad reputation he gets throughout the story is anything to go by.
You telling me that the moral of the story is supposed to be that if someone makes fun of my ideals then I am wholly justified to murder them?
All Higuma did in the bar was ultimately throw a temper tantrum and throw liquid around. It wasn't worth somebody of Shanks's calibre to be concerned about.
Heck, the entire incident started precisely because Higuma perceived himself as being insulted by Shanks. I guess thin skinned Higuma was just standing up for himself, amirite?
Then thin skinned Luffy got captured by Higuma because he didn't like Higuma insulting Shanks.

Fans who try to simplify Kidds character to just “cocky brat who kills people that laugh at him” is just as bad as the OP they are clowning on right now btw. There are parts of Kidds character that are respectable and there are parts to his character that are immature/edgy and off putting. He’s got room to grow as a character (unlike a character like Shanks).
If Kidd was just all about bodying fodder who laugh at him then there’s no way he’d have fans. He’s more courageous than 99% of the characters in this manga, very ambitious, he’s got a bond with his VC captain that I see many fans say that they like, and he has an unbreakable spirit that allows him to suffer humiliating defeats and still keep moving forward with confidence.
He wouldn’t be a rival character (who is respected by the MC) with CoC, a supernova vice captain, and a 3b beri bounty if there was nothing respectable about him you clowns lol. Your takes on Kidd aren’t any better than the OPs

His first scene in the New World consisted of stopping people from coming back to Paradise and murdering them because he found them too weak to stay alive. Of course he abuses his power and goes and kills weaker people for no reason.
Kid is a monster and borderline sociopath, which is why Oda didn't just draw him defeating Shanks' fleet but cutting them in half in one of the most gruesome panels depicted in this story. Shanks didn't just stop him from fighting those guys but from murdering them with such brutality that I only remember in monsters like the Beast Pirates.
