Oda was right to take kid out of the PK race because let´s be honest: HE WAS NEVER A REAL CONTENDER.

no they are not "innocent people", oda has shown that all the people that laugh at peoples dreams are vile people. Just look at bellamy and his crew for example. And Oda has shown that people that hate on roger are vile as well, look at ace flashbacks when he was a good. People would say vile stuff like "anyone who is connected with rogers deserves to be crucified and have stones thrown at them", and ace literally tried to kill them for talking shit. But ace isnt considered evil just for him getting angry at "trival matters"
People tried to make fun of kid and kid stood up for himself. "Bbut killing them is a bit extreme", yeah well of course its going to be exaggerated, hes a PIRATE. Normal ass pirates just kill civilians purely for their own selfish gain they dont care about morality one bit, they go and kill civilains for loot. Kid only messes with civilians if they mess with him first. That automatically makes kid a better person that 99.9% of pirates. Its just that he isnt a 100% pure hearted pacifist saint like shanks is

Oda frequently has a bar full of random people laughing at people's goals. They're not antagonists or some shitty villains, just regular people. Did luffy turn into Ramsey Bolton on everyone who laughed at him for saying he wanted to go to skypia? No he didn't, he even ordered zoro not to do shit either.

It's not so much as Kid losing as it is him being low IQ. He saw that he couldn't beat a Yonko 1 on 1 in Wano with both Kaido and BM. So he just waltzes in with 0 powerups/improvements?
We'll see if it ends there and then, but if it does, it's just terrible writing of Kid's character. If he was to face Shanks he should at least have some new trick up his sleeve like ACoC.

I find Shanks unlikable and boring with his speeches about the new era and fighting for peace while at the same time being a pirate and being in cahoots with his supposedly enemies. Being portrayed as the Roger of this era makes me want him to be out of this story asap. From a goofy character in chapter 1 to a perfect serious character in the series the next time he appears. Very bland and is only there to hype his fanbase.
But Kid on the other hand, is also an empty character who only had a support role in the previous arc. He doesn't have his own narrative subplot just like Apoo and Hawkins. We only know he wants to find One Piece but so does everyone else who is more relevant than him. He only exists to fight and throw scraps at people.
Let's be realistic, what will he do to beat Shanks? Definitely not the laser that was casually being tanked by a damaged BM and is only used to push her in a hole, or punk gibson or whatever his other attacks are. The metal bull perhaps? Cause I don't see any of those attacks endangering his life even if he just stand there. Even Apoo will just tank all those attacks (minus the laser) who is just working as an informant for Shanks' fellow yonko.
Kid also softened up after Kaido beat him. He didn't even settle things with Luffy.. and Apoo the one who betrayed him, and just celebrated with them after the raid. Any interesting traits, like being a ruthless rival/pirate, are gone once he gets friendly with Luffy. From a Doflamingo wannabe to just Law 2.0. His only hope is to become a vengeful pirate and hunt down Shanks no matter what. Otherwise, even if he gets back up to chase his dreams, as long as he is still your usual friendly pirate, he wouldn't be interesting anymore (not that I had any interest in this char in the slightest).

He did look good destroying the fleet in the future sight, even Shanks commented on the destruction he would cause. I know Shanks is just human but so is Apoo who is pretty durable and has no problem tanking Kid's punk gibson(?) while off guard. Coating himself and his weapon with haki, then use them for defense, and using future sight, there's no way Kid is actually keeping up with him (while looking good) with any powerup. Even if I'm a diehard Kid fan, this would be expected, and I'd know his limit. Especially on Shanks' debut fight.
