Character Discussion Mihawk's lost ambition and Buggy bringing his spark back

When it comes to buggy, crocodile, and the rest of the crew them all previously having dreams of the one piece and giving up on it are pretty obvious
Us seeing this chapter that the opportunity buggy was given reignited his drive and ambition as a true pirate. Him by the end of it helping bring back the wholes crew passion


Crocodile also had dreams of finding the one piece as we saw in the baroque works cover story

The only current odd one out being mihawk so far but what if like the rest of them he also once shared that ambition. Hes at the very least like the rest of them going to take part in it now cause it isn't like he's just going to leave cross guild now.
If he was once after the one piece just the rest of them what do you think killed his ambition and made him stop?

Gecko moria joining would also be even more fitting because he's another character that was after the one piece but gave up. Maybe cross guild will be made up of members that previously gave up on their dreams of finding the one piece with buggy unironically bringing that passion back

I don't feel Mihawk ever shared the One Piece ambition, at least with the info we currently have.

He would have a crew or something at least for that and there's no mention of him ever having one. He didn't become a pirate for the One Piece either since he was a pirate before the Pirate King was executed and revealed the One Piece to the world.

So it's likely he just sailed alone fighting people before he got bored of it all.

Most likely, Mihawk lacks the ability to lead others. He has all the strength you could ask for, but you can't become the Pirate King with strength alone. You need to be a capable leader who can spearhead a loyal crew of likeminded adventurers. Mihawk is a loner who lived with a bunch of baboons for years until Perona and Zoro got teleported there. He doesn't exactly have good people skills

I think that's the implication with Mihawk's line about Luffy back during Marineford

Anyway it is clear that both Mihawk and Croco don't have that ambition, they have other plans but now they are obliged to follow Buggy otherwise it will seem they are afraid to fight for the One piece with other emperors. They are just mad.

4 out of 5 of them are confirmed to have want the one piece at one point or another with them eventually giving up on it. Mihawk wanting it at one point doesn't sound crazy

Especially considering he's going to take part in trying to get it along with the rest of cross guild. All of them got their ambition for wanting the one piece back so mihawk might've too

Croco is a solid case, I agree, most likely WB crushed him along with his One piece dream and from that point onwards he was a businessman instead of a pirate. But even if that spark is still there and is reignited then he will never serve under Buggy but try to get the captain position (but then he will clash with Mihawk since if that is a pirate crew aiming for the One piece then there is only one spot for the captain) and that will ruin the whole Buggy become shiki/emperor/PK? subplot OR, other option, that spark is reignited and Croco follows under Buggy, that way the Buggy subplot is intact but Croco as a character is completely destroyed since he becomes like those fools following brainlessly Buggy. So the best option is to have both Mihawk and Croco framed (they can't run now otherwise they will look like cowards and so their final expressions) to fight to make Buggy PK.

Mihawk is different, for me you can bet that since he was young he was a sword maniac like Zoro, he only cared about beating the old WSS and now he is the WSS. Of course he was present along with a ton of other rookies when Roger was executed but that was just for curiosity, afterall he for sure admire is/was curious about the PK and One piece and that is why he was there at Logue town.

It might have something to do with the person that broke mihawks trust that made him give up on it
As for who idk the only person mihawk has a connection to outside of cross guild is shanks so maybe him
