so in the latest chapter, Buggy started re-sparking the hopes and dreams of becoming Pirate King and finding the OP to all of the Cross Guild

But what about Croc? We know in the past he wanted to be the Pirate King too, as shown when Miss Goldenweek used her powers on the Baroque works members to reveal their hidden dreams

Did he fully abandon that dream after suffering many defeats (including once by WB) in the past? Or does he secretly still want it?

right now he seems to just want the same “utopia” as he did back in alabasta, and with mihawk saying they need “overwhelming power” i cant help but think he means MORE than just strong subordinates… perhaps the ancient weapon pluton again?

P. S.
Fuck your stupid mihawk threads, tired of seeing them

Cross Guild Will realize that a Poneglyph reader, Pluton, and a Road Poneglyph is all on Wano and Crocs leaving it with Pluton.

And Pirate King was possibly just a stop gap in crocodiles dream to Utopia. Utopia feels like much more of an end goal than finding the one piece ever did. He still wants to be king, but king of his own nation.

And who knows, maybe Crocs secret Iva mentioned will come in to play.

He's disillusioned about becoming the Pirate King after Whitebeard
I thought that was clear
Yes and thats why I’m saying Buggy could possibly reignite his dream again

even if slightly

clearly this chapter was not just an empty bluff (no pun intended) and Oda really intends for all 4 current yonkos to try and get the OP and race to PK

buggy cant go that far without croc’s serious cooperation in this, and he would never do that unless he believes they have a shot at it.

Croc grew cynical and gave up on being a real pirate

yes. the utopia is a psychological coping mechanism, an ersatz-dream that, once fulfilled, would provide him with a safe space where no whitebeard can kick his ass and show him he ain't no pirate king material. it'd be a place where no one can rub his loss of his real dreams in his face...

croc is a sad, broken man. he took buggy's refusal to die without at least TRYING to achieve his real dream personally. it was painful for croc to see someone who hasn't given up - even when his head is getting smashed by croc's own fancy heel. a painful reminder of his own broken will.

My problem with his utopia is how will he maintain it? Will it only exist as long as he lives? Eventually he will get old and someone will have to take control of things so whats stopping corruption?

Its his own corrupted vision though. What if the next person takes things back to the old corruption? Takes it back to kings and marines.
Assuming they managed to create Utopia, why would they do that? What old corruption anyway?

Crocodile's Utopia is not about the turning the world into an Utopia, it's about creating a powerful military nation that's strong enough to be independent and autosustentable that the WG cannot mess with.
