@LANJI CUCKSMOKE tbh a lot of people were calling Kaido disappointing and a fraud in the chapter where he was getting ragdolled by the scabbards unable to do shit, with it ending with him getting white eyes and knocked out.
I even remember some believing scabbards would beat him without Luffy. Then Oda had him stop playing and rekt them.
Even top tiers are not untouchable gods in this series, except maybe Shanks

Never said Akainu was the main or final antagonist anyway. I don’t think Luffy is fighting one single guy during the war and that’s it

Some more issues I see with admirals "struggling" against revo commanders, assuming that was the case.

- no 3 of Revo, Ivankov, was low diff'd by Magellan and then no diff'd by Akainu
- no 2 of Revo, Sabo, was played with by Fujitora. And this was after he ate fire DF. To be noted is that even pre-DF Sabo was the no 2 of Revos

That’s why I’m saying to wait for the raw or redo. summary at least. There’s just no way the same Fuji who was trolling the number two is having a problem with someone with clear inferior portrayal. I may disagree with Oda choices sometimes but he still tries to be somehow consistent when it comes to characters strenght

All the strongest take damage. Invincibility is not what makes them top tier. EOS Luffy will still be hurt by a non-gag Nami slap. What they makes them top tier is the damage they can dish out. A PK-level char can have an entire arm ripped off by a dumb fish if he's not focused
and
at the same time
that same char can solo half of the verse with two slashes of his sword.
That's the dichotomy of a strong mofo in One Piece.

the difference is we knew luffy had to take down kaido
and their fight had at the very least a dedicated 20 chapters to making kaido looking just as impressive as luffy as he got stronger to match him. The contrast in opinion with big mom and kaido is down to the fact the latter fought luffy so he had the panel space to look incredibly impressive. with big mom , oda sort of skipped to the part where she got her ass handed to her. The sort of redemption you are talking about isnt hapenning with these guys and if akainu is any close to aokiji , its not happening either.


That scenario is more applicable to blackbeard. a villain thats actually guaranteed to fight luffy.

It's related to his knowledge, strength, and Impel Down conviction.

He was featured in Doffy speech when he said Revo army was stocked with strong fighters. There are much more arguments for Iva being above the captains than the opposite

Akainu Is as guaranteed as BB, even Is someone doesn't like it.

Even if you don't trust the other signals, the scar is clearly pointing at it. Shanks-BB, Oden-Kaido, Zoro-Mihawk...and Luffy-Akainu. In OP scars are symbolic and connect characters.
