ok, but still. Pride is not only coming from obvious achievement, pride of simply existing is still a pride, that you achieved living and being who you really are. That you fought for that expression of yourself. Pride Month is for being truly proud of that you are you, and that's amazing.
So let's take this from both religious and science views.

Religious view: God created you, you existing is a gift. Thus pride in existing is a sin, because that pride goes to god.

Science view: You exist by accident, and survived because chance, you had no bearing in your existence or surviving aside from maybe being healthy, but the fact that that car didn't hit you this morning, is no effort of your own (unless you dodged like a ninja, then you earned it). Pride belongs to chance.

Quantum science view: Even more than science, you owe your existence to chaos theory.

Still not seeing it.

I mean it's not? The argument is that the month shouldn't be called pride, since nothing on that flag was earned, achieved, accomplished, or worked for. Pride of who you are being an incorrect definition of pride.
:zorothink:
Yea even I questioned this. Why this month.

fleetwat mate... you overthink hard. Also since when we mix here any religion, since we talk about acceptance of yourself, nowhere church or such mentioned, science as well.

You're really tense as you think now, even if you think you're calm. You try to find an answer through medium you know on a purely existential and philosophical thoughts and thinking. Something what is more of a thought, idea that connects everyone, something that everyone in need and in hard time need to finally feel. A pride of being, a pride of accomplishing life what they have, as small or so it is, you are happy with yourself you you fought for that, you live now in a safe house, without no one to lash at you for what you are, or happy that you just finally opened. Pride and happiness are quite similar as pride is happiness but all happiness reasons are not pride. Like square is rectangle but rectangle is not square.

You must be proud of just being if you wanna be truly happy with yourself, proud of who you are and for that you have to open to yourself and see that you do are something to be pride of, and if not, fight with your right now habits and so to be proud of yourself.

Since Stonewall riots were in June in 1969.

Pride as a concept at least exists for achievements. Happiness doesn't. It's a mask we put on ourselves to hide other emotions we feel at the time. Anytime you're 'happy' it's just a guise for everything else. So I wouldn't use happiness as your definition.

Still don't understand why we call it pride.

To have pride is to feel good about an accomplishment, something you did, or something you became. An achievement. That's why it can both be good or bad, lest someone become vain.

What did they accomplish? What did they become? Just seems like the wrong term to use.

Maybe Content Month, Accepted Month, Individuality month.

Pride just never made sense.
you must be so much fun at parties huh
