On the narrator box for Saint Figarland Garling, the word used is "王者" in quotation marks, 王者 is used for Champion or King, but considering it's in quotation marks, it's probably saying Garling was formerly known as the "Champion" of God Valley.

Champion is a weird word to use to be honest, I prefer king. Also it would make sense that God Valley had a ruler.

Also, titles are often misleading. Koby is known by the world as the Hero of Rocky Port, but it's not like he stood a chance against BB, Whang Zhi, or even TS Law.
