Isnt this like, your number 1 complaint though usually lol? Do you not think he wont do this? The issue is faction based, not positionary. Any focused, central antagonist has a hypothesied Zoro opponent. Zoro getting random special treatment having a separate, random endgame fight doesnt seem weird at all to you?

Hes already making Kaido's title irrelevant considering we went from Kaido to now Kizaru and/or Saturn (regardless of how Kaido was fought), and there are still x amount of arcs left for more dangerous enemies.

I don’t think Mihawk being Zoro’s final fight was ever a real possibility after the Shichibukai disbanded

Think about it

When would their fight take place?

Mihawk can’t and probably wouldn’t align himself with the WG again and there’s little room for any OP content in the main series after the Final War

Luffy beats Imu, whatever alliance he can conjure up takes out the Gorosei and the Admirals then Zoro sails to a random island to defeat Mihawk and the manga ends?

No, that never made any sense

If Zoro fights Mihawk at all it’ll likely be before the Final War begins

I know a lot of Zoro fans wouldn’t like it buts that’s the only way I could see it playing out

I would argue shanks is prob closer to a wg ally than mihawk is and shanks is pretty much not like other cds.

Bros, Mihawk is a member of Cross Guild. He is part of a yonko crew. Luffy needs to defeat the yonko before he becomes PK and fights the WG.

Oda didn't need to put Buggy into the race for Pirate King. For most of the story, he was only focused on Captain John's treasure. Oda could have just let Buggy focus on that while Luffy, Teach, and Shanks focused on Pirate King. But the fact the Buggy is in the race is unquestionably a set up for Zoro vs Mihawk.

Chronologically speaking, Zoro needs to beat Mihawk before he fights Nasujuro. And that's okay. I've noticed Zoro fans have a nasty habit of downplaying future Zoro opponents. Y'all did this very same thing with King during the rooftop, with Zoro fans claiming that rooftop Zoro would low diff King without a power up. And look what happened.

Ultimately, Nasujuro being above Mihawk doesn't downplay Mihawk or Zoro in any way, so Zoro fans need to stop being so insistent in this nonsense chronology. Mihawk is the World's strongest swordsman, Nasujuro is a god. A god being above a swordsman is only natural. It only serves to hype up Zoro when he tears Nasujuro from his throne. Mihawk still has better portrayal than Shanks, Fujitora, and any other swordsman in One Piece. The man just isn't a warrior god, and that's fine. But there's no need to lose braincells over this.

Luffy will become PK by defeating Teach, and then go on to defeat Imu in the final war.
Zoro will become WSSM by defeating Mihawk, and then go on to defeat Nasujuro in the final war.

That proves Shiryu > Mihawk.

Yonko BB pirates > Yonko Cross Guild.

Its just better for ZKK fans to admit Teach is final villain so Nasujuro can fall before Mihawk and last villain for Zolo is Shiryu.

Utopia imo is that answer.

With the WG slowly deteriorating in strength due to:
The abolition of the Warlords
The war with the revs
Egghead likely leading to the fall of an admiral at least and most likely an admiral and a gorosei

The world government is going to be at their weakest and most desperate soon. Utopia will fill a well needed power structure here.

Utopia replaces Mariejoa
Mihawk lives in peace at the top of the world (where he claimed he’ll wait for Zoro)
Buggy becomes the god of pirates (which is what he claimed he’ll be to Luffy)
Imu remains in power by using Buggy as a stand in. (Kinda a Hercule Satan and Buu dynamic)

This allows the final saga to go off with Zoro vs Mihawk, Luffy vs Imu, the straw hats remain the hero for “freeing the world from the pirates that conquered it” rather than making them look like anarchists.
