The first time I agree with you completely(well besides the Japanese accent thing).

The trailer was good imo since I had no expectations so won't nitpick the little things but Luffy completely ruins it.
If you watched for example the tv show Black Sails, and in other series too, they have french and spanish actors with their own native acccent act in english, it gives a type of an exotic Vibe to the story.. Black Sails was about Pirates too, but there are other series that does that, like The Expanse, it makes the characters way cooler and gives them dept.. I'm thinking of Camina Drummer and Klaes Ashford, they were hands down my favorite actors in the show..

why Japanese accent?? Please no:kobeha:
A light tone to give the right feeling.. At least have Luffy's named attack voice Stretch too, not just the motion..
Guuuummmmmm Guuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm(u)....................................... PPPPPPPPPPPPistolllllll(u)!!!!!

The '' u'' can be very subtile barely recognizable, just to give a special touch than just straight boring english..

It would look cringe in live action drop your weeb expectations
Dude what are you on about.. The reason why Zoro is so badass when he puts on his Bandana is because it almost drops on his eyes looking like a fucking demonic beast.. THat's the whole point fuck..

I am convinced you're a troll.
Also Luffy is not Japanese.

Omitting attack names should be a general rule to stick to.
It doesn't translate well into live action at all.

They can implicitly hint towards their attack names as a nod to manga/anime fans by commenting on them like e.g. "my fist hits as hard as a rifle (gomu gome rifle)"

Ofc my example is off the cuff, a writers team could hopefully come up with something more natural
