So when will luffy enter massacre mode?

Luffy already did after Ace's death. He was lucky to have Jinbei there to help him, which is one of the biggest reasons I love Jinbei as a Straw Hat. Jinbei earned his role on the crew by saving Luffy from his insanity after Ace's death.

I think Luffy might have one more in him, though, and if it does happen, it will probably be a big death. Garp, or Shanks. Shanks most likely.

A big part of the Yonkou saga is Oda weeding out Luffy's strongest Pirate enemies (the Yonkou), so that that Pirates aren't overpowered going up against the WG/Marines in the end. If we end with Kaido, Big Mom, Shanks, and Blackbeard all attacking the WG in the end, along with the other Straw Hat allies, the WG is fucked.

Oda has been slowly peeling away at the four Yonkou at the beginning of the series: Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, and Shanks. While I think Big Mom and Kaido will come back, the death of Shanks would really force Luffy to mature, just like Ace's death did.

I'm scared to see it happen.
