He is also born normal so he doesn't have CoC, much less that many Haki reserve to use it for sky splitting.

I think imbuing your Sword in Haki is the base form of Internal Destruction for Swordsmen.. So yeah Zoro already got it since timeskip..
And Dragon Damnation is like level 4 Internal Destruction when it comes to Swordsmen..

Black Blades may require some CoC, but it will still mostly be CoA..
