I am sorry to hear about your loss. My condolences to your family
Aye thank you! On one hand I'm glad she's not suffering anymore, she went with her whole family here but sadly some of them including her elderly sisters were unable to get down here in time and only got here for the funeral, so they're overcome with grief and regret, so we tried to comfort them and they've been offering a lot of support in return with losing her and saying I can rely on them in her place instead.
One of her older sisters who looks like her own twin despite the age difference, way more similar to each other than the other siblings even, she was crying that my grandma, her younger sister went before she did and she kept saying I wish it was me instead (as in referring to herself, not wishing I was gone instead LMAO! Thats some certain other relatives and probably people here who wish me gone instead I imagine!)
Seeing a lot of my relatives after so many years was really nice, especially when the pandemic kept us from seeing them too for so long especially.
Even though I have some extremely shitty people in my family (some of them not blood related funnily enough), there are others who vastly compensate for them and counter balance them. I got reminded of those people today and lately too. They've been supportive beyond words, pure selflessness/empathy/kindness etc.
I forgot how great most of my family can be and especially how wonderful my extended/distant family are. They feel more like close/real family to me especially.
The funeral home was exceptional too, the service, the demeanour they had, the pristine professionalism and such. Such a beautiful place loaded with flowers everywhere and a pond too, just like me and my grandmother love too.
On the other hand too, I am extremely angry with myself for not doing more for her, for not being as supportive as I could have been, not spending more time with her and so many wasted opportunities to return what she did for me. Its easy to say I shouldnt feel this way nor I did enough but I know I didn't, she did far more for me and others than we ever did for her and aside from some relatives, including one family especially who are angels on earth, godsends genuinely, she always did far more others regardless, she could not help/stop herself.
She accepted everyone, didnt hold grudges, loved uncondtionally regardless if you were blood or not, if you were same race, religion, skin colour, straight or queer or w/e etc.
She didnt play mind games, she didnt lie, didnt backstab or betray people, she was a straight arrow, honest, sincere, true to herself and everyone else. She held the highest standards of what we all could be like and should be like too. As a good person, the best person you can be I mean. To others especially.
