The thing is that powerscaling is the strongest polarizer in the community by far, and also the kind of debate that absorbs others and rarely the other way around. The most radical and aggressive attitudes are born and fed in threads about fights and levels, so while it is a problem with some fans, the concept of powerscaling and the activity that it elicits is significantly problematic.

My 2 cents is powerscaling only becomes toxic when people are passionately pro/con certain characters - some powerscaling is not toxic at all, but for absolute certain the Zoro powerscaling is massively toxic no matter who else is involved, but it is definitely at its worst in Zoro vs Sanji

Im gonna disagree here real quick, the first generalizing of zoro fans already happened on page 1, and sanji fans have been hostile towards me as well, feel free to check my posts to see whether i was "annoying as fuck" or not.

It’s extremist fans. Every character has extreme fans that back up that character to the death even when they know their wrong.
Just Examples :
Luffy fans saying Luffy was Yonko level after defeating Katakuri, then Luffy gets 1 shot by Kaido.
Zoro fans saying Zoro will beat Kaido solo when manga literally has Luffy saying he’ll beat Kaido 100 times.
Sanji fans saying Sanji will defeat Katakuri in WCI just cause he dodged a jelly bean.
It’s extremists like these that make power-scaling in One Piece so toxic.

I’m not talking about those 2 though. There opinion on Zoro having the last blow isn’t extreme. I’m talking about people who do have the extreme opinions and know they’re wrong but they can’t admit it cause they love a character too much.
Just an example is KingofLightning on YT. This man said that Sanji is stronger than Kid and this was before Sanji even got a RS. Even now he still won’t admit that he’s wrong about this ...
