Hyo death aside (RIP to a real one) this fight felt really rushed. And coupled with the fight we could say the same for Hyo's character

Suzuki is great at flashing people out with just a few panels but this whole fight felt like a speedrun for me.

These magnetic superpowers (which spell more bs to come in the future) are also a turn off for me.

At least Heisuke being made to kill a civ will lead to more development for him so that's neat. But overall, this is a 3/5 for the whole fight, and the 3 is very generous

I think Kuma is being developed to be a Heisuke future opponent. Yh it was kinda rushed and Hyou got done very dirty....but I feel it was all to give Heisuke more within the plot. Still though didnt have to kill of Hyou like this. People who wanted stakes finally got it.

Whats wrong with magnetic superpowers ? Seems like all of Al Kamar will get powers. Also explains why Shin reacted to the orphanage when he read the newspaper. They probably got their superpowers same way Shin did.

You gave the answer yourself.

I was already having a hard time with the psychic powers we had, but I got to terms with it thinking that would be the most science fictional power here.

But now we have Magnetic Sand bending and who knows what not in the future.

Lmao I like that lol. I mean it gets boring when everyone just uses CQC/Martial Arts/Weapons. Its not like superpowers will become the new powersystem....its just a unique way for some characters to fight.

Damn that sucks, I liked Hyo. This whole situation was kinda weird though. Hyo and Kuma are both essentially new characters. Hyo’s been here for a while but the story didn’t really do anything with him and Kuma was introduced less than 10 chapters ago.

So it’s two characters we barely know having a fight to the death. It’s not exactly the most thrilling of fights to me (granted the choreography, art, and paneling was still amazing).

Yh my biggest problem isnt the fight....its the lack of Hyo beforehand. We deserved atleast a mini arc of Hyo and Heisuke connecting with each other before this fight happpened.

Wtf? How can you say this fight was rushed? It started 5 chapters ago and went on for 4 chapters in a row. The length of the fight is really impressive, especially when you consider other shonens where the side fights last for one or two chapters, nothing more.

If there's an anime, this fight will take a whole episode.

- It's two characters that were introduced within the last 10 chapters (in Hyo's case he didn't do anything till now)

And now boom, one of them is dead and the other has losta limb, which we know means squat in manga.

So don't say the fight was rushed, because you mean the lack of introduction of these two characters in the story.

The fight itself wasn't rushed but I agree that Hyo should be introduced more clearly into the series.

Insane chapter.
My sympathy for all Hyo's fans. But that's how it works. Can you imagine a story about professional killers where deaths are never relevant? No! It can not be.
This was the first mission of a member of Slur's Group in the arc,and the victory was from Slur's Group side. The arc started with Slur's Group in advantage.
Kumanomi's victory costed her a arm. I guess that Kashima's scientific expertise will solve it for her. The replacement will either be a robotic arm or a artificial organic arm.

What a chapter! Tbh I expected Kumanomi to retreat and have another go at Hyo later, I'm sad to see him down so quickly.

As for the whole fight, I kinda love and hate it at the same time - I don't like Kumanomi, I also don't really like her powers as there's no explanations of those, I'd rather have even a couple panel flashback where she either gets the weapon or somehow is experimented on so that she gets those powers. I loved Hyo and Heisuke broship/student - mentor vibe.

Also while I kinda get why Sakamoto stopped killing, for other characters it's still not a must, and tbh sometimes it is better to kill a mad dog rather than set it free and let it do more damage... Oh well, good characters gotta meet the high standards I guess.

The pacing wasn't weird to you?
We go from Kumanomi going on a counter attack, Heisuke being forced to kill a rando, his reaction to such a pivotal event in his life not being given the proper spotlight, Hyo coming in and throwing him aside amd dying to proppelers in water

The manga is great and I was one of the first fans on this forum, but it's not above criticism

Probably some high tech stuff. Or her creating whatever limb is appropriate depending on the fight, with her magnetic powers.
