Fanclub Zotash (Zoro x Tashigi) Fanclub.

Tashigi would most certainely be the first to realize her feelings for Zoro and it would be her who'd initiate the first kiss.
Judging by the SBS in volume 70, she's probably already aware of her feelings but she's embarrassed to admit even to herself she's falling for a pirate :catblush:

I can't wait for them to meet again. I want to see how Tashigi's attitude towards Zoro has changed, and the same for Zoro's.

Hahaha a vague Oda answer for his male readers as per usual. "I suppose she might be embarrassed in a different way, though. I don't really know how young women think."

Hehehe in translation when a handsome man carries you, you will blush. She is not necessarily aware though, it comes out naturally.

I am not sure that she has really realized her feelings for Zoro yet, it may instead have been the first time they erupted in open sight. And she may be in denial for a time before she really acknowledges them.

I would really like to see Tashigi describing Shuusui and Enma, she's such an expert when it comes to rare blades.
I'm still holding out hope that she'll be there in Wano when Zoro learns how to turn his blades black. Or when he visits Ryuma's grave. There's all this Shimotsuki clan lore we still have to learn about, and she has a good chance to be connected to that clan too, if her resemblance to Kuina turns out to be not coincidental...

The Road To Harmony
Imo, Tashigi is one of the 3 most important figures in Zoro's journey. The other two being Luffy and Mihawk.

Luffy gave more meaning behind his ambition, Mihawk reminded him how far he needed to go.

Tashigi forced him to confront a side of himself he always tried to suppress following Kuina's death. His mortality and limitations, specifically through her resembling Kuina and saying the words she spoke, yet in completely different context. When Kuina told Zoro women can never be as strong as men, she was depressed and accepting. Zoro hated that, like she's using it as an excuse for when he would eventually beat her it would all be due to genetics and the nature of things. He and her promised one of them would become the best, nurture over nature, and all that.

When Kuina died in such a mundane way, Zoro was both distraught and scared. Distraught because his rival and best friend passed away unceremoniously, but scared because of the limitations that came with being a human. The one he considered his goal, gone so pitifully. A part of Zoro always believed since then, at least up until he met Tashigi probably, that he is only going as far as he is because he's a man, but like how Kuina believed she couldn't aspire to more because she was a woman, Zoro subconsciously believed he would reach his natural limits, and that ambition wouldn't be enough at that point. He too would succumb to being a human. It's why he originally spoke as if he had a death wish early on, such as in his conversation with Sanji.

Or when Mihawk saw through him.

Death might have been an excuse not to confront himself. That if he were to die along the way, then it's the better alternative. Until he met someone like Tashigi. Someone with as lofty an ambition as his, who was climbing the ranks of her world despite being a woman, and telling Zoro off for his perceived weakness for not ending her.

She was also the first swordswoman Zoro ever encountered in his journey, showing that at some point, he could've believed no woman would make it as a swordsman. He mentioned how he was so weak upon first meeting her.

Like he couldn't process the idea that Kuina could've been wrong, and that his original beliefs before her death weren't far from the truth. He mentioning he'll never meet her again was like suppressing the entire encounter. Though he'd meet her again in both the swordshop and their rainy duel. The latter where he just wrote her off as a copycat, ignoring who she was.

Since then, he has ran from Tashigi, trying hard to forget her and what she represented to him. Until he no longer could. It's tough to say when Zoro's mindset over Tashigi and his own insecurities changed. Reasonable to suspect it was after his training with Mihawk, but I think it might have been even earlier.

Since his fateful meeting with Tashigi, Zoro's met several strong women and swordsmen, he has seen how far he has come, and that no matter what may occur, he should always try to press on. Makes it even more poignant when you remember he was the one to mention how he and his friends get stronger every island they visit.

Imo, "Nothing Happened" is the result of what he has earned through Luffy, Mihawk, and Tashigi. Luffy gave his dream more purpose, Mihawk gave him a clear picture of where he needs to be to be the best, and Tashigi opened his mind that your life circumstances shouldn't deter you from challenging them. Without all three, he likely would've died taking in Luffy's pain. He survived an ordeal he took upon himself for his captain, wagering his dream of being the best, and refusing to submit to his mortal coil.

And poetically, their first encounter post timeskip had Zoro mention her promotion. Strengthening his newfound point of view, and maturing over his stance from Tashigi that she isn't some haunting reminder of his dark past and feelings, but a brighter future filled with possibilities. All he and she have to do is embrace it.
