seems like humans have anti semitism in there DNAs.
This is why I empathize with the early Zionists.
Nobody was willing to fight for the Jews. So they decided to fight for themselves and attempt to create a future for their people.
And I know that there’s definitely a dark side to that story. The nakba did happen and it wasn’t fair to those people.
But also, I think it’s a bit reductive when critics of Zionism say “this is just like European colonialism”.
Like no, these people weren’t just New Yorkers. They were mostly refugees from: the Holocaust, Russian pogroms, Islamic persecution of jews. The place they knew as home had proved not to be safe for them and the only other land they had any connection to was the land of Palestine.
