This is actually a beautiful chapter, because Twilight has constantly tried to fight for humanity, despite taking so much weight on himself.

This chapter showed that Nightfall loves Twilight honestly, from her heart, not from some crazy obsession. His kindness and commitment mean a ton to her, and fuels her. Without Twilight, Nightfall is a cold, merciless woman. I honestly believe he is the person who taught her that spy work is not about being merciless, but about doing merciless work to save people who deserve mercy, rather than terror.

Nightfall utterly rejects the idea that Twilight and her love for him makes her weak, because they inspired her to protect people in the first place. Nightfall is nothing like this dude. She's willing to challenge Yor, but not hurt her. Fionna cares about people, even if she acts cold and severe. Wheeler acting like her care is weakness, and then getting backsmacked, is one of my favorite moments in this series, because it shows what kind of guy Twilight really is. Everyone around him loves him, not because he's a liar, but because his actions are so honest and kind.

Yes!!! Such a spot on analysis. I'm worried about Fionna though, unless Twilight gets to his senses, she's done for...

true, i’m getting tired of how many of the arcs don’t feel like they thread together or directly contribute towards Strix very much because each one is just case closed by the end

That's my greatest fear for this arc. That it'll end and the only loose connection to Loid and Yor is the fact Yuri thinks Twilight spared him.

Which wouldn't push the Loid spy plot along at all
