Zoro fighting Shiryu is like Moria fighting Absalom.

Shiryu needed to depend on cheap sneak attacks to gang up and defeat an old man < Zoro standng in front of a combined Yonko's finishing move.

For me, Shiryu is an opponent for Sanji to further unlock his genes against an actual swordsman, and possibly turn evil like he foreshadowed. Not to mention the fact Shiryu has the stolen fruit of someone Sanji already faced and the story of the fruit being Sanji's dream fruit.

Point is I think Zoro >= Garp, while Shiryu looked like he was decisively weaker than Garp.

Garp detected Shiryu's sneak attack on Coby and shielded him with his body.

Sanji could perceive Queen while he's invisible.

Invisibility may confer an advantage, but COO can detect it, especially if the opponent is on guard.

Kaido was bloodied after Luffy first punch on the Roof. Did that stop him from fighting 50 more chapters. Shiryu literally got right back up what are yall even talking about

Guys shiryu is fine and very very dangerous.
First of all coo detects intent and you don't have to see a move in order to avoid it.
Zoro has better feats than some coo specialist in that department lol.
While all that are in Zoro's favour the truth is that no man has actually fought someone invisible.
Sanji delt with queen after queen start running like crazy and tried to hurt a woman, there was not a fight against invisible opponent and garp was literally out after shiryu's attack.
Even though he knew that he was the target, he still only managed to save coby and got severely injured.
Those two scenes above are definitely not the scenes where people fought invisible opponent and won.
The whole omg shiryu got bloody so he is weak thing is just hate imo because at the same time those people ignore that shiryu was laughing and was fine at the very same moment and he also pierced iron body garp.
While both coby and garp have amazing coo and super speed both got played by a trap and the invisible man, definitely in this scene coo didn't beat invisibility.

Shiryu's not a bum, there's just a massive massive gap between true top tiers and everyone else. Shiryu can fit in there somewhere.

He doesn't seem to have what it takes to give Egg Head Zoro a King level fight, let alone Raftel Zoro.

I feel like Shiryu needs a massive power up to give Zoro a difficult fight at Raftel.

Alternatively, it could be that I'm just massively overrating Zoro.

You are not entirely wrong.

His showing was neither good nor bad, just mid.
But since he has a cape, Oda might make him show more impressive feats in the future.
