If i was on Netflix i would try to make something like Baby Yoda, its less expensive and if they get it right making it a "cute mascot" it would make a lot of money with merch.

Think they cut Don Krieg. From the trailer look like the SH get to Baratie, Zoro fight Mihawk and then Baratie is attacked by Arlong crew who is after nami.
kinda makes the plot change too much for me imo

You can't have everything in a 8 hours long serie
That's why we should remove everything.
That will be much better
Sanji eyebrows are too goofy , oh let's forget his back story.
He is too pervert for western
Sandals are too uncomfortable
Gaimon is just a waste of panel now
Hachi has too many hands
Gin was useless side character

Is Don Kraig in live action or they removed it too because they don't like metals

I consider arlong park to be the first proper arc of one piece

so naturally I think hachi plays an important part
We must understand what each of those elements play as role in the story. If they can be replaced by something else, more easily reproducable in live action then it should be if the overall themes and story are untouched. Don't worry tho, they didn't get rid of Sanji's backstory.

How are they going to make up for Zoro nearly drowning to test Nami, defeating all of the fishmen and Hatchan while having a fever and his chest cut open? :quest:
This can be done in a lot of ways, I trust Maeda and Owen, they know their stuff. They will find a way to create a good story with what they can have.

many things are bound to be removed but that doesn't mean they get to remove an important character of the first proper arc

also why do you try to convince me when you always fail to do so

One day you will understand that listening to me when talking about storytelling is the wise thing to do hehehe. :optimistic:

On this matter, if the purpose of Hachi can be achieve in a different and less difficult way, then this will be the best thing to do.

With all the hype they are giving the live action I feel this will be one of the biggest trainwrecks we have seen for a while
Don't think so

Netflix are merging plot lines (and I can see them merge entire arcs if they decide to make more seasons) and I don't think it's a bad thing. They are doing what Oda is incapable of, it's his greatest weakness as an author and results in terrible pacing and culminates in the dozens of running chapters and stretched side character duels we saw in the recent arcs(cough ninja fight cough). The merging may actually be better at getting across the messages of the story. Ofc some things will feel off, eg missing beloved side characters but that's because we're not used to fast paced One Piece.

Yeah you are right.
Arlong can play the role of Hachi now.
That stupid octopus isn't needed anymore.
We should remove Zoro and Sanji too and combine their character to create one character. It will save time and budget too.
Impossible, Sanji and Zoro plays on two very different themes.

Merging things and simplifying things is a necessary thing to do in that context. Somethings are just not possible, we have to accept that.

I don't agree, the purpose of the many and many occurence in term of plot line has a purpose. It creates a repetition that helps the theme to be more vivid. Actually, Oda cuts a LOT of thing you can see that everywhere.

But I get that some people might be upset not to see Hachi

honestly no point in arguing with you

No, it means that there purpose can be fullfilled by something else. They are important in the manga, but in the live action things must be adapted differently.
No lol, not in there case xD
Don't try to turn my own argumentation against me, it won't work lol

Sanji and Zoro are two very different character whose role can not be fullfilled by someone else ( unless this character is weird as F)

Oh come on, why everything has to be a fight with you ?
