That's why Teach retreated. There is no need for Teach to fight with a top tier when there is nothing to gain. Clapping Law on the other hand to gain access to his Road Poneglyps is a much better deal.

Rayleigh's CoC > Luffy's CoC and Kaido told us Haki > All

Haki > all doesn't mean that someone with slightly weaker Haki loses if he has other great powers to compensate. Kaido's clash with Luffy was compared to the clash of Roger and Whitebeard and Kaido on top of it has a broken Devil Fruit that massively boosts his physical stats, on top of being an Oni. It's also headcanon that old Ray's Haki > Luffy's.

Oda didn't say that old Ray's Haki scales to Shanks' Haki either. He said that in the same scenario Luffy was in in FMI, both Rayleigh's and Shanks' CoC would be strong enough to knock out all 100.000 fodder. Doesn't mean old Ray's CoC = Shanks'. I'm not even sure prime Ray's CoC is = Shanks'. Shanks CoC has the most highlight in the series.

Then Luffy: "We are 100 times stronger than 2 years ago".
This was a direct parallel to the Rayleigh statement and should show how much Luffy grew since Sabondy Archiple.
