Well it was very in line with her character. Her whole life she wanted to feel needed. She literally almost killed herself for Sai. Clearly something is fucked up with her character and Sai saved her (and also got his ass kicked by another woman because of it lol)

It’s not like he was always this bad...Nami and Robin both have complex, intriguing backstories, and used to actually get good panels/storylines before he decided to stop focusing on all his protagonists. Would much rather see Hiyori, for example, as a jaded, broken person hellbent on avenging her dead father; instead, she gives Enma to Zoro and...??
