It needs to happen, otherwise this encounter is pointless. Luffy's growth is pointless. The fodder side character doesn't need any respect and that doesn't add anything to the story to give him a "real" fight, it would just make Luffy look really really bad if he doesn't win this one quickly.

It's a massive L for Luffy if he doesn't humiliate Kizaru.

Lucci is just too clean, 1 shotting Stussy in base with a basic technique and casually clashing with Zoro.

There's a common theme in this arc, of characters questioning or not believing Luffy and the Straw Hats as actual power houses and worthy of being called a Yonkou crew.

And i think Oda is gonna end this arc by making sure that everyone in the One Piece world knows that Luffy and the Straw Hats aren't fucking around.

In many ways, it's like the Marines are doing what the Straw Hats did in Sabaody.

Pulling up on their place and being all confident they can take them, then getting blown up in their face.

Yea, you've got a point. But to be fair there is a possibility that Kizaru was not going all out compared to Lucci. Lucci was in his awakened form, Kizaru just used a basic kick and a laser

Well Sentomaru did good, surviving Kizaru's signature attack Yasakani no Magatama..

To be fair the difference is Sentomaru who fought Luffy was still fresh and healthy. Sentomaru who fought Kizaru was already injured and bandaged. Still the injured Sentomaru survived longer.

Fact is it's not straight forward, but when communicating with these agenda fanboys it's easiest way to express matters.

It would depend on the type of attack and circumstances. A deadly stinky Lucci surprise finger could kill Kizaru no doubt. Straight head-on fight in warrior style, would need Oda to make up stuff based on his idealism and plot convenience.

Kizaru fight with Sentomaru was an emotional one and Kizaro didn't even use his full strength

Doll actually injured a new model Pacifista which is probably very impressive, these things should be way stronger than the pre TS ones. Chins one shotting a Sea Beast is great but dumb VA haters won’t acknowledge these feats lol.

Nah all these Vice Admirals won't be relative. The weakest gets trashed by the strongest.

And the new Pacifista each are worth more than an entire battleship so they're plenty strong.

Why bother going to gather all those samurai for 60 chapters. For them to claim it was do or die by burning the boats...and then lose?
