I loved his look but hated the way he spoke. Felt too nepo baby to me
But the look, posture and fighting scenes couldn't have been done better. And the actor's twitter game is on point as well lol

Twitter game? I don't have a twitter account, what did he do there?
I generally agree with you, I disliked how he spoke but I loved his moves and choreography (I have two gripes with his two action scenes but those are on how they wrote the scenes, not him directly). I also disliked his "portrayal" since his introduction, though, and the last scene with Garp didn't save that for me. Although, to name something good, the bar scene with Usopp that they added, coupled with Zoro's and Nami's drinking game, was pretty great.
His looks, albeit his "hairstyle" was new for the character, were great and spot-on except for his lentis. I have unironically seen much better-looking cosplay lentils.
Just to clarify, I'm not trying to be negative about the LA: I'm happy for those who enjoyed the things that I did not. I'm just being honest about how I felt watching that part, not trying to convince anyone to feel the same way.

I had forgotten about Beckman. If I set the bar of "what could be done with Mihawk" at "what they did with Beckman" then Mihawk is a 100/10.

Yeah, those scenes you mentioned didn't do it for me either. But that's not on him or his performance so I didn't want to mention it.
One more scene I didn't like was the way Zoro challenged him - Zoro was way too cool and collected there for my taste.
Imagine if a no name, small town boxer wanted to fight orime Tyson -> they end up going face to face randomly -> the no name guy big leagues Tyson and tells him "I'll whoop your ass tomorrow, bitch"
And you're supposed to take that guy seriously. But whatever, the fight itself was good.
I haven't watched it yet. I was waiting to see if it was a Cowboy Bebop kind of disaster. It looks like, in general, people like it so I'm going to watch it this evening.
Based on the trailer alone, and clips I've seen-
Luffy actor has that Luffy energy down pat.
Zoro actor has the attitude right. Wish he was a bit more muscular though.
Nami actor seems to have been a perfect choice.
Sanji actor was the one I was most iffy about, but he is actually standing out as one of the best choices.
Usopp actor- Is perfect! idc about him not having that ridiculas nose, he has that Usopp vibe perfectly.
Mihawk exceeds all expectations!!!
Now for the bad-
Shanks looks like a meth head with a bad hair job, distractingly awful!
Dear god, is that supposed to be Ben Beckman?
The kid Luffy is atrocious. Way to mellow to play our super hyper kid Luffy!!! Get another young kid to play young Luffy asap!!!
It makes sense. As far as the story goes, there hasn't been any type of romance among crewmembers. Even in the off chance that there is, it'd be something in the vein of a flash-forward where luffy is shown to have a kid and the kid has orange hair or something. It'd just be subtle like that.
No romance is interesting cos I deffo would've shipped Zoro x Nami in the live action
I'm only on episode 6 or so but so far, one thing I'd say is Luffy feels very underpowered; even without CGI they could improve his fight scenes a shit ton more and make it seem like he knows what he's doing in battle.
They even portrayed Zoro as outright stronger than Luffy when he lifted the vault in Shellstown, when Luffy and Zoro were pretty much equal in raw physical strength at the time.
I'm not usually a shipper. In the manga and anime I think the only one that mildly makes sense between crewmembers ins Luffy and Nami (because of their dynamic) but I liked Zoro's and Nami's dynamic in the LA.
The LA was great so far but one thing really pissed me off: Why did they have to skip Don Krieg like that? It'd look so great to see them battle in Baratie arc.
