Powers & Abilities What character would Sanji have to fight and defeat in order to earn his respect back?

I don't think the gap between Queen and King being huge or non-existent is that important. He is a fat-ass clown, which already makes him look relatively weak, with no good feats against certified strong character. Tanking hits from Marco or Ryokugyu doesn't make him look intimidating sadly.
And Sanji is the L-taker of the strawhats so he cannot be used anymore to hype people up. Sanji needed to fight a badass looking character like King

The problem is Oda's lack of detail in his choreographies,the attacks of Sanji that are made a way it leaves a bad taste in the end and braindead oppoents actions.

Oda for Luffy would have made the top panel a page alone. Scuff marks to indicate attacks and static Characters.
A secondary fight in Zoro vs Killer was more intense than the big battle of Sanji in Onigashima . The first kick on P1 is better.Hell the kick on the fodder in the soba stall was better
Becomes braindead and lets everything hit him even though he sees the attack.
Hell the worst he did is that IJ sequence with Queen.
Sanji becoming an afterthought for Queen and making Sanji's attack seem like a chap shot basically and not dealing with Queen's best is really taking the piss.
Considering what IJ really is,Queen should have taken less attacks throughout the fight,block them and at the end either have Sanji overpower him completely or make it an actual speedblitz,not the shit we actually got.
He doesn't have to beat someone to win back his respect. It's enough when he stops jobbing. Which he he seems to have done by now. But it was a hard time from saboady till wano.
Sanji's more like a supporter. What I expect from him is
- island-wide CoO sensing through his feet/through the air. Sensing people that may be in need for help. Or locate people and objects.
- fire hacks like king showed
- CoO multiplying his smelling senses. Basically for detecting people/ingredients and cooking better food. Smelling poison, too.
- blitzing speed. He doesn't have to be able to beat an admiral. He doesn't have enough firepower for that. But he should be able to blitz them, beat them in terms of speed and flexibility. His speed should give even some kizaru a hard time.
- pull a Skywalk that goes supersonic
- pull a Skywalk that goes high up in the air and then with supersonic speed back down and use his exoskeleton + CoA body as missile to literally nuke an island
He's not a raw fighter. Not a ruffian. He rescues and preserves rather than destroying and ruining. He doesn't need to rival zoro. Part of the sanji hate comes from his simping fans. They should accept that he's not aiming for a worlds strongest/king title. And he'll still be around the top 30 EoS. That's a pretty amazing feat.

Prior to the fights I would’ve said King, but after queen showed the germa abilities queens the better answer.
And none of that’s power wise just narrative. Would I have liked the aerial fight with king? Absolutely. I think it would’ve looked great. Did oda throw away that entire part of kings kit? Yeah because for some reason oda refused to let king use his fruit for most of the fight. So I’ll take the Sanji vs Queen narrative.

At the end of the day Queen was it, King was always for Zoro and the fandom would crucify Sanji if he fought Who's Who so we got the best we could get. If we don't get choreography in the manga we'll get it in the Anime. I do think Sanjis next fight will be choreographed well tho, Queen was a very unique case, I think Page One, Queen and Jack were the only people in Kaidos crew that didn't have any type of speed and agility.
Yeah I would’ve preferred Zoro was more involved in the Kaido fight or Orochi was actually strong so Zoros fight could’ve had a bit more character narrative; but since odas sticking with crew vs crew yeah King was it.
Queen has speed, moreso than people give him credit. He canonically has lightning speed extensions through the Germa powers and his base running speed is shown to be no laughing matter plus his close combat speed with flying pan was shown quite fast as well.
Honestly only reason people call him slow is cause of his design despite Jozu a person with a similar build being called a super fast individual in the manga.
