Am I the only one that notices that Marco feels different, in the same way that Jinbe felt different in Marineford and the aftermath? Of anyone outside of the top dogs of the arc (and Ace and Luffy), the only person to get more focus than Marco in relation to Luffy was Jinbe (not counting Ivankov, because he was then and still is affiliated with someone).

And now that we see his message, the dude dropped everything after he took care of what he had to in order to run to Luffy. A guy that he doesn’t know that well, the same way Jinbe did everything he did for Luffy despite not knowing him well. Plus we’re going to have Marco for the remainder of this arc and more...He fees different to me. I don’t hop on the x-character-is-crew-potential bit at all, but Marco registers on that radar for me.

Don't hold your breath for a good justification on WB situation. Always go with the least expectation. It's more likely that WB was scared of height and couldn't go up the waterfall. That waterfall has solid portrayal afterall.

I was going to say something snarky but then saw someone called you a Sanji fanboy only minutes later lol. This place is predictable as hell.

With Marco, I find it interesting that Whitebeard ordered him to “not let him die” and then he was the one who pointed out that Ace’s last wish was for Luffy’s survival. Both important, and both not limited by time. Plus we get Marco for multiple arcs now, so he’s going to have time to develop with the crew, and Luffy...

Whats wrong with that? That would put another feats to kaido. For defeating Kaido, even his strong groups need to betray him.

The crew is to have its "top 3", like all Yonko crews. Granted, these will be more powerful than any Yonko crews, but we already know Luffy will be verse-topping, Zoro has to at least be top tier, with Sanji having the pervasive theme "3" placing him as the 3rd strongest. We've already got Jinbe making waves too. If Jinbe doesn't get any stronger - given his age, I'd be more open to the idea of having Marco become Luffys YC3 equivalent but i just can't see it because I can't see Sanji getting much stronger than Marco EOS

The PK having incredibly strong allies under him makes a huge difference. If the strongest a Yonko ally could get is Doffy, it makes sense for Marco to be an ally for a PK: Distinctively superior to guys like Doffy in both power and influence

But yeah apparently I am a Sanji wanker despite the fact I prefer Franky, Marco, Smoker, Brook, Luffy, Fujitora, Reiju and Hancock to Sanji
