Only reason Kaido said challenged is because Luffy was complaining and Said he wants to take on Kaido alone to yamato. It's easy as that lol.

Also he nowhere mentions it's the base Luffy he's acknowledged.... it's whole arsenal lmao. He already used gear 4 against Kaido.
