>Humans are versatile beings that can fight off things that are undomesticated and barbaric
Meanwhile, humans:

We can slip on a fucking banana peel and die from intracranial pressure lmao
I fell on solid pavement back in 2019 and the back of my head swelled up (luckily externally) to the size of a golf ball and got a CAT scan.
Memory hasn't been the same since. If someone has a brain bleed internally, their survival rate lowers. Brain injuries are beasts:

The likelihood of a chimp slamming your head against a solid object rendering you confused and disabled vs you throwing a punch before it can get to you is low. Reaction times can vary which is a major factor in your survival of these types of attacks.
We're extremely fragile and less durable then we imagine. The instances where survival from head injuries and multiple knife wounds are outliers or pure, insane luck. And even then the possible complications from injuries including infection in the aftermath of a brutal attack is high. Even if a chimp or whatever didn't kill you directly, you're still unlikely to win the survival lottery afterwards because it will land you in the hospital. You may even need skin grafts.
Any wounds past the epidermis can and will fuck you up.
