my idea so far was Yamato being the son of Oden and Toki, born after Odens Death. Kaido raised him as his son, so nobody expect it. But Yamato grew as Odens son, similar taste, similar character, but well trained by kaido.

so kaido sees him as his son, but he has the genetics of Oden, and raised him as son, cause of respect to Oden and his strength. And also as a way to get the strength of Oden into his crew.

and that brings us to the big announcement of kaido. Following that thought, Kaido could reveal exactly that and make Yamato the shogun of Wano, as legitimate follow up to Oden. Also he offers Orochi to the scabbards, or even kills him by himself.

that’s my thought so far. Much holes and a lot to think about, but came to it a few minutes ago, so give me time to build something around it.

I do like the sound of Yamato being Oden's actual son, but a few things I need fleshing out:

1) you're saying Toki was pregnant just before Oden's death, and also survived?
2) then she died after giving birth to yamato?

Well, remember that Toki never had her death shown, only 2 arrows to the back and then she collapsed. Hell, Kaido could have had her imprisoned this whole time with Yamato being born later.

I love Kaido despite him being an evil bastard but I can’t get on board with the idea of him raping Toki, that’s too much. I won’t be able to remain a Kaido fan if it’s true.

I mean Griffith from Berserk raped Casca and he's still one of the best characters I've ever seen, kinda depends on how it's done, but I'm sure that rape will never in any way be shown or hinted at in the OP story.

So at this point we have 2 big theories on Yamato's parents?

- Toki/Oden (3rd, hidden son; Kaido adopts Yamato, imprisons Toki)
- Kaido/BM (part of their past issues?)

I don't want to assume Oda would include implied rape in his manga (too dark for a shonen honestly), so honestly any other combination either sounds wrong (Kaido/Toki or Kaido/Shimotsuki) or just not important (Kaido/Black Maria).


tbh, I like Kaido/BM having a kid. This would be great dynamic.
