It appears to me that through DF mastery you increase your Haki level. It's like the more you master yourself and conquer your DF the stronger is your Haki.

So, it's not a matter that DFs are obsolete now after gaining a strong enough Haki, but that with a stronger Df and stronger DF mastery your inherent Haki can be enlarged and strengthened beyond where you naturally cap at.

As the user grows stronger so does his supreme king haki...people act like luffy haki didnt get a major buff when he unlocked gear 5 gear 5th made luffy stronger therefore so did his haki.

Luffy won that final clash becuase his fruit made him strong enough to knock Kaido out. Only thing his haki did was allow luffy to punch Kaido without touching him.

If Yoru is a level higher than his current sword - what's its name? Griffin, I think- and he master it to a sufficient level then I guess his Haki would grow stronger. It's not a matter of just wielding a superior weapon or DF but mastering it to a high level to exceed his limits that will make his Haki stronger.

You don’t just get CoC boosts for getting stronger weapons

Like I said mastering said weapon to some high degree to exceed his limits -like on a spiritual level or something- that is what will grow his Haki.
