Ok now that I properly watched the episode, it was well executed overall. The anime always delivers with the added post battle wind down scenes. Nami, Usopp, Tama, Chopper and Brook just wandering around the banquet sets a really comfortable atmosphere, validating the reason Wano fighters are taking on the challenge themselves.

Momonosuke continues to shine, not only in his individual journey, but also in his wholesome relationships with Luffy and Zoro. Great to see Luffy encouraging him and Zoro proud of his student's progress. Smart of the SH big 4 fighters not to intervene and allow him to stand on his own.

Obviously Shanks is just GOAT, no elaboration needed. Aramaki, on the other hand, shouldn't be dismissed regardless of petty powerscaling shenanigans. So much untapped potential in the final saga to make him a memorable admiral.

Finally, Yamato's retconned crewmember arc still baffles me. Don't think any anime additions will change my mind. And of course can't wait for Conjeo Blanco scenes next week for the memes :ihaha:

I prefered the CoC scene in the manga tbh
The idea of CoC tentacles wrapping around someone and piercing them feels really boring and out of place in the story. I know Shanks is built up as this Haki mage, but this was too much.
A simple yet enormous Haki burst would have been enough (and too OP anyway)
Agree. Felt like it was from a different anime lol

There's a reason why Mihawk resigned from the war when Shanks came to marineford. Mihawk is the only person who probably knows what Shanks full power is and keep up to him.
I think he saw it coming , As everyone was somehow tired and Warlords were supposed to fight from Navy side and given their old rivalry. He would have been expected to shanks which he clearly doesn't wanna do due to shanks hand. So he clearly mentions " fighting him isn't the contract " and leaves before things escalate.

Cuz Honestly there was no one Marineford who could have taken Shanks on with that much of fatigue and Damage taken already.
Mihawk was the only unscathed one.

I love this episode! Confirms a lot I believed about conquerors haki- mainly that its weird as fuck and has various abilities other than hurt harder and KO potential.

Shanks haki-sniped Greenbull and it rooted him to the fucking spot (heh). Just like Conquerors haki can dominate wild animals, extremely strong haki can dominate even the strongest humans it seems. It's psychic effects and the physical effects combined can explain even Ashura for Zoro! Especially since his solution to being too weak in the past, was more swords. If he used it unconsciously, it would manifest as him willing more swords into existence (or the equivalent effect).

For me, this ep also settles the Mihawk vs Shanks duels. Mihawk can push Shanks on pure combat and Obs/Arm haki, but Shank's trump card just nerfs Mihawk and nothing is gained for either. Shanks literally has to turn off ACoC during their duels like those memes implied! I imagine similar jumps can be made for stopping Kaido, and is why he places in Kaido's top 5 despite being a human non-DF user missing an arm.

As two sword experts, does this episode help or hurt the sword agenda? I'm so lost in all the powerscaling nonsense I have no idea who is on whose side anymore
Nah i just watched the wifi Haki clip on twitter lol. I didnt watch the full episode and i probably wont lmao.

Gryphon might be a more magical sword than Enma but the streets arent ready for that convo :ace:

Yeah we didn't see Mihawk take any damage there.
I was thinking today when Straw hats meet Shanks and Zoro sees Shank's sword, do you think he will ask Shanks to cross swords with him with Shanks dropping more lore about his past with Mihawk because we know nothing of Mihawk's past except his legendary duals with Shanks.
