As unfortuate as it is, I can't say there weren't other things going on around One Piece during this arc. Prehaps it will pick up later. I may be a bit bias since I too lost trust in Oda, but the world of one piece was sold to me as a place where Oda may introduce something I like, and the wrong editors/PR staff will try to make me feel bad about choosing to like something/character. Why like anything in this world if it will leave ill feelings?

You shouldn't listen to me, I am weening off one piece and I shouldn't let my abandonment of the franchise damper others mood.
