I guess it is a bit uninteresting, but it was necessary to invest us in Kuma for whatever Oda has in store for him when he lands on Egghead. Just think about how you viewed Kuma before the flashback and how you view him now, totally different. But yeah I also think he overdid it with Kuma, he could give him a little less tragedy and make it shorter but I guess there's a reason if we're on chapter 1099.

This flashback has made me like Kuma even more as a character.

Dont you think its odd Gorosei not having tab on Kuma , last survivors of Bucanner race . Even Ginny kidnapped seems well planned and her death to Sapphire scale could be very well be Saturn's work .

Saturn probably set this plan all along in motion . Dude is Aizen wanna be .

Imagine in the future when we get a Mihawk or Shanks flashback and Oda ends up showing little action.

Let's see if these same people will still complain because if not, then it will show you how much of a hypocrite some of these people are.
